Lightweight but a little underpowered

I have a 12” metabo compound miter saw that is a beast, but it’s very heavy and I need AC power available which is occasionally hard to come by. This unit solves all these issues. The downside- I cut a lot of lightweight aluminum extrusion for porch screen, so I bought this saw specifically for that purpose. The saw does a good job, but I need to make sure I have a strong battery and cut a little slower because the blade speed isn’t as fast. The slower blade will sometimes catch an edge of the aluminum and bend it and fling the material. This can be dangerous so I’ve adjusted my methods to minimize this possibility. Increased blade speed would be on my wish list.
Needs a better sight line.

Don't get me wrong, this is a nice saw. I thought the motor and cutting is great. I haven't tried tweaking this thing yet but the strength of the sightline/cuttingline is weak and fuzzy at best at the fence, right where you need it. This is the one big thing I like about my Milwaukee, dead on cutting. Other than that flaw it's a pretty nice saw!
Great job site saw, but cutting depth is a bummer

If you have ever owned a sliding miter saw, you've wished it could cut wider material. The dreaded ""flip-and-repeat"" is seldom perfect. With only 7.25 blade this saw isn't good for much larger than a 2x4 or 1x6, but it's great for trim jobs and the like. Very easy to move compared to any other saw. Easy to build a frame for it that mounts on two sawhorses. (I built my frame to the length of my truck bed so the saw would be stable in transit.). The LED cut marker doesn't stay on, as it would with a plug-in saw, so you have to get in the habit of activating it before a cut.
